It's unlikely that EVs will ever be viable for remote off the grid properties in Australia. Imagine going out in your EV land cruiser to work the land from 6-5, come home with less than 25% power left & then take a day to recharge it because your solar system can't put out 20KW ph. And that's just for one vehicle. Either you'd a) need a massive solar system b) need to run a diesel generator to charge the EV c) have twice as many vehicles & use them every other day.
Hydrogen power is the only viable technology that will work in remote regional Australia without FF to back it up.
