Sell to initiate driving down of the price, this will trigger stop loss orders. This stop loss selling will trigger more stop loss orders and a cascade is underway. Other traders will then look to sell out or lighten up, as they get nervous thinking insiders know something not in the public domain and that bad news is around the corner. This will create heavy selling pressure and the short sellers can purchase these shares covering their shorts.
