There is a time span to measure the price movement, hence Hourly, Daily, Weekly and Monthly chart patterns. If you use Hourly chart to trade medium term you may be cutting your losses a lot of the time as the hourly price fluctuations could be more volatile. My chart patterns are measured by Open, Close, High and Low price of the hour, day, week, or month.
