'Surf Patrol' watched by 1.7million people

{BEGINS} “1.7 million people tuned in to watch the first episode of 'Surf Patrol', the true story of Australian surf lifesaving, which went to air 8pm, Monday night on Channel 7 (Prime and Southern Cross in regional centres). The first episode saw surf begin a desperate search for a little boy lost in the surf and the crew of the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter have their work cut out for them when a small boat goes missing in treacherous conditions.
…. ‘Surf Patrol’ was produced by Cornerbox, the creator of some of Australia’s highest rating programs including ‘Border Security’ and ‘The Force’ with the full co-operation of Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA).
….. The series will showcase some of the country's most famous beaches, including Bondi …. “SLSA had been planning a series such as this for some years and we were therefore delighted to be approached by a company with credentials as impeccable as Cornerbox,” he said.
