Ummmmmm, this doesn't really answer your question but the DOW has been depreciating buy about 3:1 against commodities since 2000. Therefore this suggests that the DOW price is moving based on inflation. This we are clearly seeing today. No doubt the banker bail-out money and QE initiatives are propping up the stock market. The middle to upper class cashing in their stocks are flooding society with paper causing goods and services to jump in price. It is quite a joke how the USA calculates those CPI figures, so fudged.
