ASX MARKET RELEASE

Participating Organisations are advised that subject to shareholder
approval today Thursday 30 May 2002, the return of capital of
Resolute Mining Limited (the "Company") will become effective on
Friday 31 May 2002.

The return of capital is 10 cents per share. The Company has also
announced a bonus issue of options on a one for three basis to
shareholders registered at 5pm 6 June 2002. Fractions will be rounded
down to the nearest whole number.

The timetable is as follows.

30 May 2002 Shareholder approval for the return of capital.

31 May 2002 Trading in securities on an "ex return of capital"
and "ex bonus" basis.

31 May 2002 Trading in bonus options commences on a deferred
settlement basis.

6 June 2002 Record date for identifying shareholders entitled to
participate in the return of capital and bonus issue
of options.

13 June 2002 Payment date and despatch of cheques and holding
