Hey @Bison8, I think the main use of the concentrator will be to process the ore from the IGO newco copper deposit of 2m tons discovered in the Paterson JV tenements in 2024 lol !!
While the concentrator is always an option, I agree they would stick to heap leaching all the ore. On an operational level, it would keep the operation relatively simple, there would be no need for separate circuits for the ore, no need for additional training of staff, less staff, less water use, more consistency in the product, no differing off take agreements. Lots of good reasons not to use the concentrator.
They also have the ore at Maroochy to process when this gets going. I would think their aim would be to process the oxides first, possibly just bolt on another SX circuit to the Nifty one and transfer the ore to the crush circuit at Nifty.
