Meanwhile, Rio Tinto is focusing on corporate activity in addition to its proposed deal with Chinalco. The miner revealed yesterday it had increased its stake in Extract Resources, which has an exploration project next to its Rossing uranium mine in Namibia. Rio now owns 15.6 per cent of the explorer, up from 13.8 per cent previously.
