I read this "explanation" and I have to say that whatever it means, it fails to explain the percentage in trading 19, 105, 32, 73, or 35 shares of a stock whose share price in denominated in pennies. Whether they are chasing a weighted average or chasing the moon, there just isn't any finacial gain to be made with these sales.

All the explanations of the exchange aside, it looks to me like someone is trying to keep the "last trade" price as low as possible.

That smells like manipulation to me.
