I too have thought the trades of sub-marketable parcels very curious.
I have read sections of the ASX Market Rules and found section 19. SHORT SELLING very interesting. In particular section 19.3.3 explains how the trade of sub-marketable parcels are useful in managing short trades in the open market session.
The ASX publish a Securities Lending Outstanding Loaned Daily Report. The one I looked at was published on 29/09/15 and reports the loaned securities as at the 25th of September. As of that date there were no loaned securities for MVP. It will be interesting to see the reports as they are published over the coming days.
