In the article they mention there are 5000 oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico - more than half need repairs. They have erred in this statement - there are in fact over 5000 fixed platforms in GOM & approximately 70 offshore drilling rigs.

There are around 350 off shore drilling rigs worldwide with a further 130 new rigs to come online by 2010.

Additionally there are 2500 offshore fixed platforms in Sth East Asia & The Middle East.

When you compare those stats it is easy to see why Neptune acquired USUS.
