Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has ruled out the possibility of decreeing a mobilization of the population over the war in Ukraine, after his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday a "partial mobilization" to try to incorporate about 300,000 people into the Armed Forces. --------------------------------------------------

In WW2 Belarus lost its western part to USSR
and has, as it did till Soviet fell kept mum about its aspirations for independence.
By putting a firm NIET to Russia for any possibility of militarily fraternising in Ukraine,
Lukashenko may have opened a path for Ukraine to formulate a more secure strategy
for out-buldosing Putin.
