1. AGL is installing smart meters without customer permission in an attempt to charge customers more for peak power. The smart meter has a sim card and will make it easier for hackers to snoop on privacy and use the smart meter as a listening device. They attempt to notify customers that smart meters are a mandatory upgrade.
2. Currently you can hack into a computer through the power source which bypasses computer spyware. Smart meters may allow hackers to spy on homes remotely by hacking the meter and hacking a computer remotely through the power source.
3. installing a company smart meter might stop you from unsung other energy providers.
4 If they continue they will be dumped as a provider.
Today I refused a smart meter after thinking it was mandatory but learning it is optional I refused.
