Here is an example of an i phone being hacked though a power cable. In the same way computers can be hacked though the power cable.
If someone hacks your smart meter then they can gain access to your computer data in the same way the iphone usb charges can be used to hack an Iphone.

Interesting how most of you cant see the danger of smart meter technology. I think the alarm bells will start ringing when there is a national security incident. Imagine the Federal police computers being hacked via smart meter and totally undetected. Could cost lives.
