smart meters were mandated by the Victorian government in 2006... that means any new or replacement meter will have to be a smart meter
Looks like a similar process came into effect in NSW by 2020...
Electricity providers are only doing what they have been told they must do.
Any claim you make attached to smart meters and AGL doing wrong directly could lead you into defamatory legal action - FYI - Hotcopper posters are not outside of this. So choose you words wisely... or take your tinfoil hat somewhere else
