It;s actually a case of you having no understanding of how to properly research and assuming I just did some random googling
I used the standard method used in academia used to assess researchers., You look at the university where they did their PhD and Google Scholar to see their publication record. Vanderbilt is a good second tier university. The publication record is 'normal' but nothing exceptional. Based on that you would assume assume assume that the person is solid but unremarkable researcher.
