Yes, Jetstar and Aer Lingus were known for good union relations, much better than AAD's, and the exec appointments of Alan were supported by the labor unions. The Abbott LNP Government rejected the QAN overtures for extra funding. Alan also supports many well known left wing labor union supported causes such as same sex marriage and spends a lot of time on such causes. QAN Board member appointment, Olivia Wirth, was a former ALP staffer and Joyce has very good relations with Paul Howes, Olivia's husband and ex labor union boss, AWU Secretary, same as the labor union, AWUQ, in the AAD case.
AWUQ has very poor relations with DW which may or may not be because the parent company AAD is led by an ex-LNP Councillor, Deborah Thomas, AAD CEO.
