Matyd, sometimes the storm/cyclone will miss a rig but its the sea conditions that force the rig to temporaily stop activites. Surges and swell have too much movenment to safely drill.
The Gulf of Mexico has this occur every hurricane season. Waves can be up to 30metres.
Accu weather hjas good mapping of cyclones and hurricanes for those with rigs in storm prone areas or seasonality.
