Not big Wheat growers here YC due to being hammered by frost in the past. We are going to wing it with our small acreage of wheat. Have committed around .3t/ha of Canola so have scope to lock in more there. Am very happy with our average so far. Am working on a oat contract which if it comes of will give canola gross margins a nudge. Still deciding about our Barley as probably wont grow Vlamingh unless we can secure a contract before its sown. Looking great here at the moment, should finish our Canola by early next week.

Well done with your wheat contracts. Canola seems to have stabilized to a degree compared to Jan and Feb levels. I listened with interest on an interview with someone form CBH on the ABC which suggested there maybe a significant tonnage of grain from 07/08 still in the system due to rail freight issues. If this is the case, and with the start most of WA grain areas have had, could be very frustrating come harvest. The 09/10 year could be even worse with all the canola stubbles going back into cereals.
