a house is considered affordable at 3 times wages

In nsw get this....properties are 8 TIMES AVERAGE WAGE.

Unless wages go up there will be no demand.

With the governments AWAs wages won't go up for years here in NSW.
They might go up in resource rich WA but not here in NSW.

The SMH property guide is put out by people in the property game.
If they are negative, then you can be sure things are a lot worse than what they say.
