separate battery would work like smithfield - firming and arbitrage....
I agree with both in current market - over time I know there will be less opportunity for profit from arbitrage, but right now there is a motza to be made from batteries with immediate dispatch ability. Battery on generation site seems to be nothing but cream - IMO it should be a standard of any future installation that they do.
That being said - we still have the SA gas plant to come online and Smithfields usage levels are low (partly to minimise maintenance costs I doubt it will ever get to over 25% usage) - we are really at a point were we need more generation to make use of our firming assets and go after some good PPAs to big business
