The rate of change/falling costs for batteries presents a conundrum: first movers will pay more while dominating the market in the short term and making later incremental additions easy. This is why I earlier asserted batteries need a fast depreciation schedule to match the falling price of new installs.
The Moore's Law of batteries looks about 18% pa. That might not sound like a lot but it plays havoc with capex calculations. A 3 year old battery is half price.
