HC readers with the memories of elephants will recall my insistent warnings against utility scale solar because it competes with price-insensitive rooftop solar.

Here, ABC's Stephen Letts fleshes out the commercial reality utility solar faces. It aint pretty.

Fortunately RR & team show no interest in solar, despite its obvious complimentarity to wind and feel-good 'ethical' perceptions..

Before we congratulate ourselves on ducking a bullet over here in the land of Wind, be aware the giant new 13Mw turbines that generate ~6o% of the time versus 25-30% for existing installs means all IFN's WFs will be superseded in a few short years. Existing kit isn't broken or worn out, merely less efficient by a magnitude.

The next IFN WF needs to leap to the other side of this technology chasm. Meanwhile, good work can be done with batteries to overcome the intermittency of older WFs and poor prices. IFNs next moves will be highly instructive.
