Speculative land grab, in other words, and unlikely to come to much.

Yeah, nearology often guides land acquisition as much as geology.

Carbonatite intrusions are typically very discrete, plug-like formations. Mineralisation on the fringes of the intrusion or associated with minor off-shooting structures is likely to be sub-economic in isolation.

Land adjacent to a world-class NdPr deposit is rather useful from a marketing perspective however.
