Hey Turfs, with an upwards asset revaluation from the purchase price, it will be capitalised until sold where it will then be recorded as a gain or loss. Even when they do sell, the market doesn't price the gains into the profits for calculating p/e for example, it will just be regarded as an increase in book value from cash.
