Some shareholders do not see the company and its share price in the same context as directors and management do. Unlike some who might be focused on every movement in share price, I'd like to think that the company is focused on the business at hand, to build long term shareholder wealth. A movement in the share price, either way, says nothing about what is really happening at the business level. And the directors or senior management rarely have any control over the day to day movements in the share price.
