    Just had a re-read of the summary and conclusions pages of this 300 odd page report on SHM using CVM and PZT by Dennis Roach and Tom Rice. The write up on PZT shows how complex that system is for performing crack detection compared to the relatively basic vacuum system used by our CVM. On that basis alone I believe CVM tech is a safer and more reliable system.

    It's reassuring to see the level of detail/scrutiny these systems have to go through and helps me to understand why it's taking so long for our STC to come through.

    The truly exciting part of this report, last pages, is the list of organisations, e.g. US Airforce, Navy and Army, Embraer, Nippon Air Lines, Air New Zealand, etc.. the report has been sent to!!! It's hard to imagine any or all of these organisations would not seriously consider bringing the CVM system onto their aircraft maintenance asap!
