    The thing is, sumayo, people don't read any more. Right under that photo it says
    " Motor vehicles, coal burning, industrial production and dust account for 31.1 percent, 22.4 percent, 18.1 percent and 14.3 percent of Beijing's PM 2.5 respectively."

    So yes, vehicles are the largest source, followed by coal burning which includes household cooking and heating as well as power stations. Another problem is that China's domestic coal is mostly low quality, but its cheap so most people use it.
