Hi Nikko,
We all have different memories I'm afraid.
Different pleasures, different things we waste money on.
Obviously is very dumb to continue something if not enjoyed.
But if enjoyed, not a waste.
My spouse finds my fascination with trekking around himalayas crazy, I would certainly be richer, have better knees, and likely to live longer, if I just went to aerobics classes with her.
I get fit walking, then take great pleasure in eating and drinking myself back to unfitness.
Not sensible, but fun.
Helps that I have no great desire for longevity I suppose.
Smokers should make their contribution to the costs their habits impose on society, and thru their taxes, and along with alcohol drinkers, are probably the only miscreants in our society that do.
They should not be allowed to cause harm to others with their habits,
ie shouldn't litter, shouldn't allow smoke to impinge on others.
Unfortunately "antismoking" has taken on a religous fervour, where logic, fairplay, tolerance and commonsense are out the window.
I dislike exaggeration and dissembling, whether from the tobacco industry or the Cancer Council.
Almost a " jihad " for god's sake.
cheers
