As above in line with the new rebar standards grade 3 rebar 0.03% Vanadium per tonne is being discontinued in northern china. This means with Grade 4 the next standard being 0.06% meaning double the vanadium consumption in steel will have to occur to meet the new standard.
We are going to see steel and VRFB compete for vanadium if this plays out.
This market ends 1 month before the new rebar standard comes into effect on 25th of September. Expect the rest of china to follow suit.
