Hello benbradley interesting you go there and very brave IMO, yet a valid point to raise.
It would take a long time for any pedophilia lobby group to turn Aussie sentiment around on this one yet it does raise the 'discrimination' and 'sexual orientation' issues.
That is not to say I equate or compare homosexuality to pedophilia. If we do set the precedent and you get a willing 13 year old male or female however I wonder how this might play out in future. As you pointed out orientation - precedent - discrimination then rears its ugly head do we get a court case and further changes to the marriage act?
The point is we are playing with fire in this respect. There are always consequence to change and this may lead to a new testing of this marriage boundary again in the future.
