It does make you wonder if there are any successful societies that have abandoned the general principal of man-woman marriage as the basic unit society and flourished over the long term (several hundreds of years at least) with man-man marriages and woman-woman marriages as accepted and equivalent family units...
I'm sure that the proponents of homosexual marriage have such a list of these societies that presumably still flourish today as models, or are we being forced to embark on a high-risk and unprecedented social engineering experiment to appease a small group of fanatics...
