I think if you could find a graph going back to the 1970's when smoking was allowed in restaurants and commercial airlines you will find the rates of smoking higher still. I use to smoke back in the seventies but gave it up then.
Big Tobacco - there is no evidence that smoking causes cancer.
I can remember back to the 60's and people then knew it caused cancer but big tobacco held the line.
