IMO and based on my personal experience, $2,600 seems a reasonable figure. Thats around what I pay, including paying an independent auditor . Assuming your accountant has done all of the necessary compliance stuff, he/she will have done more than you have stated and perhaps have appreciated. In particular, he/she will have prepared a set of financial statements, a task more arduous than the tax return.Plus several other proceedural matters.
Like you, all I ask of my accountantant is she attends to all but only compliance matters..She operates on an hourly rate.I meet with her once per year.From time to time, I email queries which she usually answers the next day.
In the final analysis, do I feel satisfied that I am getting value for money? My answer is "Yes".
