I will pursue this further with the ATO and I think your idea in writing is a good one, if they are willing.

Speaking to my accountant yesterday, he seems to think he will be able to keep us as residents for income tax and SMSF. I really don't know how, but he says he has a number of clients overseas, retired and working with residency status.

I am very sceptical regarding our existing and future money being handled correctly on the advise I have received so far.

I have also now spoken to 3 people at the ATO SMSF area, with different interpretations on the information provided. I will definately try to get something in writing from the correct authorities.
