yes, you can keep it simple and if you dont mind the amount of time u need to run it then its ok
i went to ING super and I was able to buy and sell securities, but the choice was too small and i decided in the end to move to Sunsuper and let the professionals do it
they have access to a swag full of less volatile investments than shares, so I have decided to go down that road
I would go back to that type of super fund(where you can by and sell your own shares outside a SMSF), but i would want access to US securities, including shares that have just floated like the googles, amazons, facebooks of the world etc
