You maybe right about that.
I have shares in EGS outside super, and this week they received a court order to liquidate the company. Was later set aside, but shows you how much more risky it is outside the ASX300.
Fences are there to keep you safe. Doesn't mean you can't climb over the fence if you really want, but usually best not to do so.
I am going to think about this more. Just because your doing well and balance looking good, isn't reason in itself to start a SMSF.
As an excercise I'll also create a model portfolio, where I could invest in anything and see how that compares over time.
Extra performance has to be worth the extra admin effort.
