I'm hoping some in the know may be able to help out.
My wife and I have run an SMSF for a number of years. I actively manage all investments and don't need any advice in that area. However, the admin side is more problematic. For some years we used a firm of accountants in Brisbane to do our SMSF tax and audit but we got tired of them because we understood more about super laws than they did.
We've changed to an accountant now at the Sunshine Coast [where we live] but, whilst the service and quality is excellent, the fees are very high.
I am looking for suggestions on SMSF service providers . I understand some of the online SMSF providers re-direct all mail, statements etc to them and take over the paper work. I would feel uncomfortable being out of control like that. I like to keep in touch with what's going on, and I wouldn't like the feeling of disempowerment.
If anyone can suggest a good SMSF admin, tax and audit provider [with occasional advice] for a reasonable annual fee I'd be grateful.
