My advice on accountants is never take investment advice from them. They often see clients who have good portfolios, good drilling companies, etc. and think that it is easy - as you know, it is not easy to make investment choice and timing decisions. Just as they stick to using their green pens then they should be good.
My advice on solicitors is to always ask "what is it gonna cost" before you get the work done.
My advice on setting up FT and SMSF is 'hasten slowly': research well, know what you want and then begin.
