Hi there Papasmurf61 - so do you have any idea how many shorts you estimate are still out there now, as its now a few days later than your last post? Trying to understand this - and feel free to shoot me down with my comments as this sort of stuff is not my strong point. To my way of thinking to replace 68M shorts, then the entity that sold them would (if on an average day of STX trades of around 6M shares) they would have to buy roughly 11 days of all the shares available for sale. That just seems such a huge task for a low volume trading stock like STX. Would that be the case? Also, every time the shares go up one cent would they then they have an accumulating cost obligation of $680,000 to settle on 68M shorts? Would they usually have to return the short-sold shares by a set date via a contract arrangement?
