    I think it's the government's role to not put up barriers to entry preventing people from getting employment, provide equal opportunity to everyone seeking employment and once employed to regulate at least to some extent the working conditions under which people work so that there is some sort of fairness in the system. When they don't do this, employers abuse employees and no, I don't think it's OK that 1 woman gets no maternity leave whereas another gets paid maternity leave regardless of where or whether they are employed.
