red, if you're interested flick me an email and I'll shoot a day summary spreadhseet that I use (gives you some handy summary tables). uses excel with about 20 tabs calcs of a table of daily data with all the S&P index lists you look to be using.

i prefer using it to give me the actual daily market moves. the S&P stuff is good for overall market trending but it's not infallible. the weighting system suits them, not me and the index lists (constituents) are not static.
