where you against the initial building of the Snowy as well? just because it was renewable energy?

If so don't know why you would be against all the struggling farmers that rely on snowy for water diversion and irrigation of the last 50 years..

The amount of water that is stopped going straight down the mountains and into the ocean and instead getting diverted inland to to help support the Murray Darling basin agricultural is huge.

"The Scheme diverts the headwaters of the Snowy, Eucumbene and Murrumbidgee Rivers westward through the Great Dividing Range, releasing water into the Murray and Murrumbidgee Rivers. This long-term water regulation is designed to counteract the effects of severe drought sequences and raise productivity in the Murray Darling Basin. In addition, water from the Scheme underwrites the production of around $3 billion worth of agricultural products every year."

Of course snowy 2.0 won't change any of that as its a closed system, however no doubt you would rather our agriculture fail then have cheap hydro and a thriving agricultural business because its that nasty green energy??
