The project is currently owned by Snowy Hydro with a stake of 100%.
Tumut 3 is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 921 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 150.9m. Tumut 3 underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2009-2012.

Contractors involved
Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 6 units of francis turbines, each with 304.3MW nameplate capacity.
