    Description

    The project is currently owned by Snowy Hydro with a stake of 100%.

    Tumut 3 is a pumped storage project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 921 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 150.9m. Tumut 3 underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2009-2012.

    The project construction commenced in 1968 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1972.

    Contractors involved

    Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 6 units of francis turbines, each with 304.3MW nameplate capacity.

    Mitsubishi Electric supplied 6 electric generators for the project.
