That is the beauty of HC, PD, we have a wide array of views.
It is my view that the focus on "renewables" is misguided if it is undertaken from the perspective of ensuring there is no catastrophic global frying as a result of AGW.
However if it is to ensure that we have a less polluted environment for health reasons then it might be debatable.
My use of the term "stupidity" was from the perspective that it makes no sense to export massive amounts of coal to feed new low emission coal-fired power stations in Chindia, Japan, etc but deny that to Australian Mums and Dads and industry.
I think this debate will now heat up in Oz especially because we have scientists coming out against AGW, there are legitimate questions being raised about the claims of global warming alarmists and establishments like the IPCC appear to be "Under Siege" (with apologies to Steven Seagal
