    I agree moonie. for this reason I believe that nuclear will be necessary for baseload energy.

    despite my arguments against some posters arguments, I do think we (Aus) needs to develop a realistic plan for nuclear. the problem with so many above is they think Dud has it worked out. imo he hasn't done the necessary diligence in developing this, but has used the thought bubble method and decided to discredit CSIRO. a move which made him look a complete idiot.

    but he wants to raise the subject and this is worthwhile. it needs to be considered carefully, debated widely, soundings taken of the community and a real plan, bipartisan, to fix the legal status and begin training workers and operators from next university semester.

    my view on siting agrees with Dud's suggestion. the old coal sites are suitable and shouldn't provoke to great a nimby reaction. but they need to start the community education effort soon to get the public softened up for the first build(s).
