The reason was in now Snowy 2 wasn’t included in the original Snowy 1 is that 50-60 years ago (the foreseeable future as Snowy 1 was being scoped, designed an constructed 1-2 decades earlier) the demand wasn’t anticipated.
The important thing Snowy 1 has shown is just how long lasting (well built) the infrastructure is … it well over double the life of the longest lasting coal fired power station.
As painful as the Snowy 2 overruns and delays are, it will serve us well for well over a century.
