Typical of State Governments (or actually politicians who love the long term gravy train that no other employee gets) keen to get new taxes and in this case drive down gold exploration and development in Vic. A bit like the WA Government that is always champing at the bit to gouge as much as it can out its gold sector, ultimately for the same personal benefit reasons.
