I wonder Harry if India invaded Woolgoolga and Lebanon took over Cabramatta and China took Hornsby if you would think it so similar.
I dont doubt for a minute there are strong ties to Russia and i accept Russia has interests to protect (as would the US) but it is still an invasion an in light of Treaties and Georgia it requires a very strong non military international response.
The hardest part of the problem is sanctions on Russia will actually unite Russians behind Putin which is exactly what he wants and needs. It wont hurt him if 20% of Russians lose work and money. But it would if 20% of Russians want him gone. And an invasion of Crimea will certainly ensure that his popularity increases.
