Normally one would not exercise early. I must rather keep the cash till the last minute. I can only guess one of the following 1. Maybe someone wants the voting rights attached to ordinary shares to perhaps get on the board etc 2. Perhaps a possible share buyback in which only ordinary shareholders at a cut off date would be entitled to. Or some other possibility like dividends etc. I think this is highly unlikely or 3. For whatever reason deliberately increase percentage ownership in ordinary shares to perhaps block out potential other large players coming in on a significant scale. Wild guesses!!!!!!!!!!!
